Pottery magic was preserved in this Vintage Royal Doulton Flambe Vase! An ancient technique of high-temperature firing and elemental chemistry creates a vibrant red glaze. This particular ceramic vase also features veining of blue with hints of yellow. Like fire and water flowing together, this vase is a remarkable work of historic trade practices! Though shape was replicated, this glazing makes this vessel truly unique.

Vintage Royal Doulton Flambe Red Black Glazed 1614 Small Ceramic Vase; English; 20th Century. Royal Doulton logo stamped on bottom marking "Made in England" and "Flambe Veines 1614". 

Flambe was a process created in the Ming Dynasty in which high temperature firings of red glazes including substances such as copper oxide would create a rich, red coloring. Royal Doulton began replicating this process at the turn of the century. Royal Doulton began manufacturing pottery in 1815 in London.

Condition: Very Good - Excellent

Less than expected wear for age; no visible damage.
