Newly married Vuokko Eskolin - Nurmesniemi wanted a dress with pockets in which you could hide little presents and messages from loved ones. In 1960, she designed such a dress. Soon everybody wanted one – mothers and daughters and even granddaughters. This is another  version of that dress- and it IS an authentic Marimekko dress.

This one is 100% cotton with a button front. It has 5 tiny pockets on one side of the button front.Silver metal buttons all over. A line with elbow length sleeves. Unlined. Could be worn as a lightweigth coat. 

Perfect, seems unworn, recently dry cleaned condition.

Vuokko Nurmesniemi was a principal designer for Marimekko, and know for bold color and shape combinations, whimsical looks.
