Handcrafted as a modern take on a timeless classic, this sterling silver cross features two layered linear cross designs arrange in a bold decorative statement heavily influenced by simple geometrical congruence, repetition, and simplicity around a 5mm Sapphire gemstone focal point.

Both the smaller and larger crosses were cut freehand from 18 gauge sterling silver sheet metal and were fused together with sterling silver solder using an acetylene torch. The fine details such as the grooves were precisely chased into the metal, before applying a pewter patina for contrast. At the focal point of the design, the deep blue sapphire was added to the design to compliment the warm silver radiance of the hand brushed metal.

The cross measures about 2 inches long by 2 inches wide and hangs from a black leather cord with slip knots to provide easy adjustment while combining a southwestern element to buttress both the modern theme and timeless classic elements thereby creating harmony in the finished design.
