A sterling silver and engined turned Art Deco styled gentleman's hip flask. This example has a very "Jazz age" look to it, with it sharp lines and angled geometry. The engine turning, also popular during the 1920's and '30's, is present on the front sides of the flask. As well as being decorative, this engraving into the sterling provides some grip, should the body of the flask become moist. The flask is in perfect condition. It is possible to engrave and personalise this piece as the silver gauge is thick, and it can be done on the plain edges. The flask bears a perfect set of English hallmarks on the base with matching date stamp on the neck, and was made in Birmingham, England by Deakin & Francis in 1964.
